How important is strength and balance in our legs and hips? I’ve been talking about it for months now but don’t worry, we will revisit it again…and again…
For now…just remember that your hips connect everything below the waist. Weak hips lead to pain in the IT Band, quads, hamstrings, knees, calves, ankles…yep…hip strength and balance is important!
Modern Mom Hip Strength:
Single Leg Deadlift: Works the back, core, glutes, and hamstrings
Squat: Squats allow you to maintain postures and movements that are very similar to running. Using a light barbell also teaches you to maintain excellent lower back posture and strength. This posture carries over into running, helping maintain a good concave curve in the lower back (neutral spine) and preventing the hips from dropping into a sitting posture.
